The Sheriff’s Emerging Community Heroes Organization (ECHO) is an appointed Sheriff's ECHO Logo group of young adults (ages 18–25) created to strengthen trust, increase transparency, and promote collaboration between the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the community’s younger generation. Through a 10-month term and monthly meetings with LVMPD leadership, ECHO members provide insight into youth-related concerns, emerging social issues, and community sentiment—while offering recommendations that support stronger relationships and safer neighborhoods. The program also empowers young adults to take an active role in civic engagement, leadership development, and shared problem-solving, helping shape sustainable, valley-wide solutions that impact youth and young adults across Clark County.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Sheriff’s Emerging Community Heroes Organization (ECHO) begins with the completion of an online application. Applicants may self-nominate or be nominated by community members, with all applications due by Friday, February 20, 2026. Following the application deadline, the LVMPD Office of Community Engagement Youth Empowerment Team will review submissions and select approximately 15–17 members to serve as ECHO participants. Nominations are welcomed from all sectors of the community through LVMPD recruitment partners. Selected members will then receive a formal appointment letter from the Sheriff confirming their 10-month term in the organization.

To be eligible for the Sheriff’s Emerging Community Heroes Organization (ECHO), applicants must be Clark County residents between the ages of 18 and 25 who have a genuine desire to serve their community and contribute to positive change.
