Bryan Peterson serves as an Assistant Sheriff withAsst. Sheriff Bryan Peterson the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He began his law enforcement career with LVMPD in 1999, serving in a wide range of operational and leadership assignments including Patrol, Field Training Officer, Investigations, and SWAT. In 2015, he entered the promotional process to Sergeant and held multiple leadership roles before retiring in 2017. Following his retirement, he joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship as Vice President of Executive Security and Security Operations, where he worked closely with UFC President Dana White, overseeing executive protection and leading global security operations for one of the world’s most visible sports organizations.

In January 2023, he returned to LVMPD under the leadership of Sheriff Kevin McMahill as Commander of SWAT and K9. He was promoted to Deputy Chief in August 2024 during a departmental reorganization that established the Tactical Operations Division, overseeing many of the department’s most complex units. As Assistant Sheriff, he oversees the Patrol Division. Throughout his career, Bryan has remained committed to adding value to others, developing leaders at every level, and building a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement to ensure the long-term success of the organization and the communities it serves.
