DREAM Program

DREAM—Discover, Redirect, Empower, Advocate and Mentor—is a free 12-week outreach and mentoring program for eligible young people ages 10 through 18.

Participants work with law enforcement mentors through structured activities, workshops and individual engagement. The program encourages positive decision-making, personal development, leadership and career exploration.

DREAM is an empowerment and mentoring program, not a disciplinary program.

Program Goals

• Build supportive relationships between officers and young people
• Encourage academic achievement and positive life choices
• Provide mentorship, leadership development and career exploration
• Strengthen trust and connections within the community

What Participants Can Expect

Participants attend two weeknight meetings each week. Each meeting lasts approximately two hours.

The program may include:

• Educational and personal-development activities
• Guest speakers with professional and personal experience
• Field trips and new experiences
• Food and refreshments
• A graduation ceremony at the conclusion of the program

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must:

• Be between 10 and 18 years old
• Receive permission from a parent or legal guardian (waiver required)
• Meet all other program eligibility requirements
• Must be free of convictions involving sexual crimes
