Metro Multi-Cultural Advisory Council (MMAC)

The Metro Multi-Cultural Advisory Council (MMAC) was established in April 2003 under former Sheriff Bill Young and then-Undersheriff Doug Gillespie. The council strengthens communication and trust between LVMPD and the diverse communities it serves.

MMAC members share community perspectives, identify concerns and work with LVMPD leadership to explore possible solutions. The council also helps community members better understand Department policies, practices and services.

MMAC Mission Statement

The mission of MMAC is to serve as a resource for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in developing and understanding diversity awareness and cultural competence among its staff and to assist the Department in providing respectful, safe, reliable, trustworthy and responsive service with integrity to a diverse population.
