Police Officer Marc A. Kahre

Officer Marc Alan Kahre joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as a cadet on October 2, 1973, and was commissioned as a police officer in 1975.

While on patrol on October 11, 1988, Officer Kahre saw a vehicle driven by a suspect who had earlier fired several gunshots through his former girlfriend’s front door. The suspect stopped abruptly, exited the vehicle and opened fire on Officer Kahre, who was riding his motorcycle. Officer Kahre was fatally wounded. He was 34.
