The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Laughlin Substation serves the unincorporated town of Laughlin and surrounding area, including historic Searchlight. Laughlin was founded in 1964 and is named after casino owner Don Laughlin. LVMPD provides protection for more than 7,000 area residents and approximately 5 million annual visitors. Each year, the substation plans and provides police services for dozens of special events, concerts, and gatherings.
