The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is tasked with the investigation of homicides, fire deaths, and suspicious deaths. The section is comprised of a Lieutenant and four Sergeants. Each Sergeant has six detectives assigned to them and work on a rotation basis. The LVMPD Homicide Section is committed to the unrelenting pursuit of those offenders who have committed murder and the successful prosecution of those involved. It is our hope that through our professionalism that the citizens of Clark County feel comfortable in contacting us with information related to any Homicide that has occurred county wide.

A cold case by definition is any murder, missing person, or suspicious death that is not actively investigated by the original assigned investigators.
The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner (CCOCME) investigates all deaths caused by any criminal means, violence or suicide, and any unattended death, whatever the cause.
