Assistant Sheriff James (Jim) Seebock has been a member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for over 29 years. During his career, he has served in various assignments including Patrol, Narcotics, K9, and the Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center (SNCTC) where he took on the role of Deputy Fusion Center Director. He was promoted to captain in 2013; as a captain, Jim led two different patrol area commands, the Organizational Development Bureau, SNCTC, and the Special Weapons and Tactics Bureau. In February of 2020, Jim was promoted Deputy Chief. During his tenure as Deputy Chief, he oversaw the Community Policing, Tourist Safety, and Detention Services Divisions. In December of 2022, Jim was promoted to Assistant Sheriff of the Law Enforcement Operations Group which oversees all uniformed operations of the department.
Jim is a Unit Medal of Valor Award recipient, in addition to several other service awards. He was charged with leading the Department Operations Center on four separate occasions, including the night of the 1-October mass shooting. Jim graduated with a master's degree in Homeland Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School. Additionally, he has a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Nevada State College, as well as an Associates of Applied Science-Criminal Justice Degree from College of Southern Nevada.
