Assistant Sheriff Charles Hank

Assistant Sheriff Charles L. Hank III has over 28 years of law enforcement service.  He currently oversees two divisions, Detention Services and Professional Standards.  He also supervises the Internal Affairs Bureau and Office of Labor Relations.  The Detention Services Division is responsible for operations of the Clark County Detention Center and the North Valley Complex.  The Professional Standards Division handles the intricate mechanisms of the department; training, policies and procedures, Office of Human Resources and the Project Management and Video Bureau which includes the Body Worn Camera Unit.  In all he oversees over 1,475 employees.

Charles has held numerous assignments within the LVMPD to include Deputy Chief of Tourist Safety Division, Technology Support Division, and Detention Services Division.  Charles also served as bureau commander of the Support Operations Bureau, South Central Area Command and the Convention Center Area Command.  Charles has served as the chair of the Pre-Termination Board and the Vehicle Collision Board.  He currently chairs the Use of Force Review Board, co-chairs the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and co-facilitates the Sheriff’s Leadership Series.

Charles holds the Nevada POST Management Certification and is a graduate of the 223rd Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (FBINA).
