Homelessness is a community problem and it is the duty of all patrol officers to enforce statutes and ordinances in areas they are assigned during their shift. The Homeless Outreach Team is equipped with resources and knowledge not readily available to patrol officers. The team was implemented with the goal of bringing these resources and training to the unhoused citizens within Clark County. This new approach by LVMPD is an effort to lower the number of unhoused individuals requiring law enforcement or medical responses. The individual seeking assistance can still be subject to police action when and if required.
Please reach out to your area command Community Oriented Policing (C.O.P.) team for homeless related requests, the C.O.P. officers work closely with the Homeless Outreach Teams. To determine what area command to contact, please
