Work card issuance is regulated by Clark County Codes, City of Las Vegas Municipal Codes, and Nevada Revised Statutes.  The purpose of the work card is to regulate businesses, trades and professions that require a high degree of supervision.

If a work card is required for a position, the employer will supply a work card application to the applicant.  Employers must appear in person at the LVMPD Records and Fingerprint Bureau to obtain work card applications to provide to employees.  This application must be completed by the employee and signed by the employer prior to the applicant appearing at the LVMPD Records and Fingerprint Bureau.  Complete instructions are provided on the back side of the work card application.  Common questions and concerns regarding the work card application can be found on the sample application at this link: Sample Work Card Application.
