What CSI Explorers Do

CSI Explorers learn the fundamentals of crime scene investigation, including how to collect, document, and analyze evidence. They receive hands-on training using equipment in the LVMPD Crime Lab to process items such as fingerprints, hair, tissue, and blood samples.

During ride-alongs with LVMPD Crime Scene Analysts, CSI Explorers observe how crime scenes are processed and gain real-world experience in forensic investigations.

Education Requirement 

Because there is an education requirement to become a Crime Scene Analyst, Explorers must be currently enrolled in either high school or college.
