ATF Applications
The manufacturing and transferring of certain weapon types requires a notification to the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO), pursuant to ATF Rule 41F which went into effect July 13, 2016. Please review the ATF website for clarification, as to when this notification is required.
These notifications relate to firearms and other weapons which are regulated by the National Firearms Act. There is no approval required by the CLEO of this agency. The applicant is only required to notify the CLEO of their application, by providing copies of the necessary forms. The applicant is not required to provide the CLEO copies of fingerprints or photographs.
For the required notifications, applicants must provide copies of the application (including the responsible persons form) and deliver them by one of the following means.
